STRENGTH AND ENCOURAGEMENTAbout Me
My name is Patti Wright. Together with my husband, I homeschooled for 30 years! I just finished my homeschool career two years ago when our eighth child graduated from high school.
All eight of our children are now off doing some
Like so many of you, I am average. I don’t have college degrees or a long Christian heritage. I became a Christian at age 17 and got married at 18.
Thirty years ago, when I was down on my knees asking for God’s help and guidance, I had no idea that He would lead our family into a 30-year homeschool journey. It was a journey that suited all of us well, my husband, our children, and me. We all learned and we all matured.
Now I am old enough to have raised eight children into adulthood.
At this point in my life, I think that God is leading me to write. God’s leading to homeschool seemed so clear, especially now as I look back. His leading at this point in my life seems less clear. I wish his leading was always cut and dried, but the truth is that it isn’t.
As I try to follow God in this new direction in my life, my prayer is that I could be to you what so many others were to me along the way: mothers and sisters in Christ that taught, strengthened, and encouraged me on my journey.
In my writing, I promise honesty and transparency. My plan is to write from the experience and wisdom gained over the last many years.
Hopefully, there is some wisdom to be gleaned from my story. If there is, let God weave it into yours. Don’t do something because I did – things done for that reason never last; do it because it is part of God’s plan for your life and your journey.
